The following pages are an attempt at a comprehensive recording and study of Port Orford’s many historic sites and structures still standing. In 1982, the late Port Orford historian Patrick Masterson, funded in part, with grants from the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office, created the Port Orford Cultural Resource Catalog. We want to acknowledge Masterson’s work and the efforts of dedicated historians and citizens like Alan Mitchell, Bonnie Cox, Rebecca Malamud, Rick Cook and others.
Most historic resource properties listed here are potentially eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. Listing in the National Register is a voluntary process for a property owner. This is a work in progress, additions and updates will be regularly added.
